Love is Calling

Drawing on faith in Christ, I discuss the challenges of life along with the victory and true freedom available in belief in Jesus alone. Born again in 1987, I have traveled a road that has taken many paths and has at times been very traumatic. Raised in a dysfunctional family, sexually abused at a young age, separated from parents at times, along with the devastation that comes from decades in a fellowship which became a religious cult, it felt like the fear, guilt and shame was irreversible and simply my lot in life. But God! God has opened my eyes to the amazing truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and who I am in Him. My identity as a blood bought child of the Living God, through no work on my part other than simply coming to Him in faith, obliterates the religious requirements of man, and HIs great love has set me free from the fear, guilt and shame of my past. If He can change my trajectory from barely existing to victorious, He can do the same for you. -Banner Kidd

Yeah! I'm a Little Stirred Up!

Saturday Jul 06, 2024

Saturday Jul 06, 2024

This world has gone nuts! People I love are dying, and relapsing, while looking to religion of man, or man's secular programs, thinking that freedom is from memorizing the written Word, or from knowledge or actions! The still small voice that speaks to us, who is God the Spirit, because of Jesus' finished work on the cross, is replaced by a bombastic voice and $100 tickets to go see a known worship artist and worship with him or her! It's a travesty! The Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified to gain us entrance in the Kingdom of God, where He rules is set aside for humanism, EVEN in religion! Yeah, I am a bit stirred up! Join me on this 10 minute episode of Saddle Up! and let's get together for a cup or lunch, or a talk in the park. There's a better Way and He is Jesus!

I am doing this study particularly for those of whom I know are still in the trenches of the Hebrew Roots movement. Maybe you find yourself in a place of fear and doubt, or you have someone you know and love drawn into it and you've being progressively isolated from. That's what cults do. Galatians Chapter Three, in context with the entirety of the letter, and all of Paul's letters, as well as the whole counsel from Genesis to Revelation, bear witness of the Truth. Those who have decided that the Law of Moses hill is the one they will die on will gnash teeth and lash out, but maybe, hopefully, there is that remaining bit of doubt towards HRM, and that small spark of faith in Jesus alone remaining. Join me in this episode of the Galatians Series, with an open mind and heart to receive Jesus and Him alone and be blessed!

My heart is heavy and I feel a defense of the pure and simple gospel is required. The faith within is what matters. We've lost loved ones lately, and many of us are facing grief, loss and hard times. Yet, we make this church life so unappealing, so unattainable, and ourselves so unapproachable by the our stupid religious doctrine! God doesn't care about your doctrine, nor mine. The gospel is literally the good news of the Kingdom of God. All we need is Jesus! I came out of the Hebrew Roots Movement and it is all about religious doctrine, and that doctrine changes as man thinks he has new "revelation." How stupid I was, to think I was so smart? How about you who are remaining in that complex, confusing and unattainable mindset, with the carrot dangling farther away with each step you take toward it? Join me on this episode of Saddle Up! and be encouraged! When it looks like all is lost and its all over.... It ain't!!!!

They have said it'll be alright, the cavalry is coming. I say, it more than alright because CALVARY has come! Family, especially those of whom I'm close to in the recovery program - those still in it, and those who've graduated, and to those who have become a part of the family whom the Lord has brought together in unity in Kendallville, alongside our recovery family - We have experienced and are experiencing the trials of life, cancer diagnosis, and death. A brother who left the program and moved to Florida just contacted me this evening and has had a pretty devastating stroke. A dear sister just informed us that she has a cancer diagnosis. And little brother in Christ, Q, Quentin Saygar just passed on from a car crash yesterday. This podcast is for all of us. You all know your own loss, struggles, disappointments and pain. Jesus knows too. He suffered and was tempted like us and we can take all of this and dump it on Him. He loves us. I decided to go back to Revelation 21 and then into Chapter 22, to remind us of what is coming.

You Gotta Hear This!

Sometimes you just need to go read the back of the book to see how it ends in order to make sense of the beginning and middle of it! Jesus, in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, tells us the amazing conclusion that is in reality everlasting and beyond words amazing life that has no conclusion awaiting you and I who choose to hang our hat on the promises that He made, and have been born again into a new life and family. NO MORE DEATH! Ya gotta hear this! Join me for about 10 minutes and shed a tear and then laugh and rejoice and be filled with great expectation in this episode of Saddle Up!

Do you struggle with selfishness, being kind, and gentle with your wife, husband or children? Does self-control seem to be something you can never achieve, as you find yourself back in the same muck and mire again and again? Do you want your life to look like a Christian's life should look? Join me as we look at Colossians Three supported by Galatians 5:22-23, on this episode of Saddle Up!

When I was at Messiah Fellowship, we jettisoned the tried and true practice of expositional study of the Scriptures, verse by verse and chapter by chapter. The result was lost context. We are nearly ready to move on into Galatians Chapter Three. First, however, the cross references to Paul's other letters is so valuable in seeing the context and keeping the context in understanding what Paul is saying. Please join me in this episode of the Galatians Series.

A servant who sticks closer than a brother, who loves us so much that He laid His life down for me and you! That's Jesus, and He is our example of being a bondservant of Jesus who is poured out for our faith. We are to follow Him in that example, by the power of the Spirit, who is God, working in us and through us, taht we are poured out in like manner. And in that glorious truth, we can rejoice!

In Philippians Chapter One Paul talks about those who preach the gospel from selfish ambition. Much like the charlatans on TV and in the big hyped up revivals, who fly around on million dollar jets and have two or three mansions, the Gospel becomes a means of gratifying their flesh. Even so, for those with ears to hear, they will hear the Voice of God and be blessed. Not so for the preacher with selfish ambitions. God will judge! Paul knew what mattered most, and he talks about his hearts desire to leave this earthly plane and to be present with Jesus.

Jesus pronounced woe upon the scribes and the Pharisees of His day. They represented the excepted and established religion who believed they were a cut above. They knew so much more than the fishermen and the day laborers, let alone the one who may not even have a place to lay His head! The religious like their kingdom and will only pay lip service to submission to the King who is God. Join me for this latest Saddle Up! episode.

Love is Calling

A Cult. Death. Tragedy. Victory

Life is relentless and impartial in its seemingly endless march. Alone, we're helpless to the events that seem to upend our lives. But, through all that life throws at us, in faith in Christ Jesus and God's great love, we are more than conquerors.
