Love is Calling
Drawing on faith in Christ, I discuss the challenges of life along with the victory and true freedom available in belief in Jesus alone. Born again in 1987, I have traveled a road that has taken many paths and has at times been very traumatic. Raised in a dysfunctional family, sexually abused at a young age, separated from parents at times, along with the devastation that comes from decades in a fellowship which became a religious cult, it felt like the fear, guilt and shame was irreversible and simply my lot in life. But God! God has opened my eyes to the amazing truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and who I am in Him. My identity as a blood bought child of the Living God, through no work on my part other than simply coming to Him in faith, obliterates the religious requirements of man, and HIs great love has set me free from the fear, guilt and shame of my past. If He can change my trajectory from barely existing to victorious, He can do the same for you. -Banner Kidd

We continue in Galatians 2 cross references in the Book of The Romans. Paul's writings, in full context, make it clear that the law is not of faith and by being under it and focusing on it to do it keeps us from the grace of God. Join me in this episode as we continue our verse by verse study.

Just because we are no longer under the law, but in grace, doesn't mean we can do what we want to do. God is the Spirit and He is Love. He loved us enough to send Jesus to die a cruel death on the cross in our place. He rose again, ascended to the Father and sent God the Spirit to live in us. We are weak in the flesh, but made strong in the Spirit through our union with Jesus - We bear fruit of the Spirit to the Father. It's LOVE! Love of God, for God and for people! All by faith! Examine yourself to see if you are in the faith!

Those in the Hebrew Roots Movement, of the many sectarian versions of Messianic Judaism have the same problem that the Pharisees and Scribes of Judaism had when Jesus first came, born of a woman. They said they believed Moses, but, though they knew and easily quote what he wrote, they didn't believe Him. They put their trust in and bestowed honor upon their peers who told them what Moses was really saying, and therefore they didn't believe Moses. The result - They didn't believe Jesus!

We are sight driven and huge man-made structures tend to make us feel secure. The Kingdom of God and His Temple is not made of man's hands, however. And we struggle with that. We, in the flesh, struggle with a Kingdom that is within a temple that we can't see with our human sight, in comparison to our view of a temple made of brick, mortar, marble, granite, and grandiose in it's largess. The Book of Haggai tells a story about the rebuilding of the temple and asks them how it compares to those who had seen the original. The reality is none stack up to the True Temple of God, built by Him and is comprised of Living Stones - we built upon Jesus the Chief Cornerstone. Haggai provides a type of the temple of God, whom we who are born again into the family of God are, and it's Builder!

In Galatians 2:18, Paul writes, "If I build again those things I destroyed I make myself a transgressor." And then writes, "For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God." If one has died to the law, law no longer rules over him or her. Such a one dead to the law is ruled by God in the Kingdom of God within.

Jesus warned His disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. He said the leaven in hypocrisy. Hypocrites, by definition, are pretenders, like actors on a stage pretending to be someone they're not. They act the part, look the part, sound like the part in man's religion, but they have no power because they don't have the Spirit! They are simply faking it to make it! Are you? Or are you following a religion of man that is just an exercise of hypocrisy? Join me for this episode of Saddle Up!
Love is Calling
A Cult. Death. Tragedy. Victory
Life is relentless and impartial in its seemingly endless march. Alone, we're helpless to the events that seem to upend our lives. But, through all that life throws at us, in faith in Christ Jesus and God's great love, we are more than conquerors.
-Romans 8:35-39
